Parenting is a Choice / Parenting Workshop

September 15th & October 6th from 10am - 12:30pm

This is a workshop for parents of babies through Kindergartners and will be held upstairs in the Family Hub classroom.

Many parents are looking for answers to hard questions like:

  • How do I get my kids to respect me and others?
  • Why does my beautiful daughter scream and throw fits?
  • Can you help me figure out why my son won’t use common sense?
  • Seems like my discipline doesn’t work. What am I supposed to do?

If this sounds like you, you’re not alone, and we want to help. This video-based series weaves practical tips parents can follow, along with humorous stories to encourage and equip parents.

September 15

The Seven Desires of your Child’s Heart

No form of discipline will ever be effective if the only times you have together are about correction. Learn how to connect with your child’s heart through these simple steps you can take.

Working Through Behavior Challenges

You will find new ways of dealing with your child’s decisions by understanding how he thinks. These practical tips will serve you well when dealing with tantrums, too.

October 6

Dealing with Entitlements and a Lack of Respect

Entitlements are a force to be reckoned with in our culture, and it fits hand-in-glove with the lack of respect. You will learn simple strategies to practice and teach your children a much deeper appreciation for things and people.

Setting Limits for the Strong-Willed Child

Your child may become a great leader someday since they have such great ambition and need to test more often than other children. Learn how to harness that energy for the good without growing weary in the meantime.

Handouts and light refreshments will be provided, as well as childcare for babies through Kindergarten. It is important for you to contact Diana Davis, Cande Ackler, or the Church Office if you plan to attend so we can be sure we are adequately staffed.
