In addition to Sunday School at 9:00 AM, we have a Children’s Church program for ages 4 through fourth grade that meets during the 10:45 AM Sunday morning service.
(Childcare is also provided for those under the age of 4 and their Sunday school is at 10:45!)
There are other special children’s activities during the year, including an Easter Festival in the Spring and a Harvest Party in the Fall. Each summer, First Baptist Church of Orangevale hosts a week-long Vacation Bible School for children, in which they are given a wide range of activities to be involved in while learning about God’s Word.
Today’s teens are more open to the Gospel than many realize. What they are looking for is realism and authentic relationships with caring adults. Here at FBOV, our youth get together to study the Bible and have fun. They meet at 9:00 AM Sundays and 6:30 PM on Wednesday Nights.
In our church we feel led to encourage, equip, and empower followers of Christ. In adult ministries we provide areas for discipleship, group learning opportunities, and leadership. Walking together towards God will be a journey we go on together. We will make an impact for His kingdom. Meeting times are throughout the week.
There is also a very active group of Senior adults at First Baptist Church of Orangevale. They do various activities, along with a weekly Thursday gathering at 10:30 AM at the church where they play games and have a small lunch. This is time well-spent getting better acquainted and having fun. Come join them, and see for yourself! All ages are welcome.
Our goal is to lead others into a meaningful worship relationship with God. This opportunity is a learned discipline that takes practice and coordination. We welcome the chance to work with new people in both services. If you feel called to lead in this way, please contact the church office for more information.
We use a traditional worship style in our 9am service on Sunday mornings, and a contemporary style in our 10:45 service.
This is a leadership position, and we are encouraged to lead with those who have the right spiritual attitude and a close walk with God.
For information about our Service Worship Team, call the Church Office at 916-988-1139. We welcome singers and instrumentalists to come and practice with us . We try to use a variety of styles as we prepare music for specials.
As a church, we have as one of our purposes to reach out to our community. This team is involved in the planning, coordinating and promoting of events that “build bridges” to our area. This may be anything from a movie night at a local park (where we give away popcorn and drinks and watch a family movie), to having special guest speakers, to being involved in Orangevale’s “Pow-Wow Days”, to planning a Park Event. This team also is involved in providing ideas and opportunities for people at FBCOV to be involved in Servant Evangelism opportunities – raking lawns, working on cars, etc. – practical ways of showing to people the love of God.
The Hospital and Visitation Ministry Team seeks to extend Christian love and compassion to those in a hospital, care facility, or private residence. Our aim is to be compassionate, quiet, private, and confidential.
If you or a family member would like a visit from one of our volunteers,
please contact the Church Office (988-1139) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
